Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book examines the religious history of Japan, from primitive beliefs to the introduction and evolution of Buddhism, Confucianism, and Shintoism. The author contends that religion is fundamental to human nature and that it manifests naturally and inherently, rather than being an offshoot of fear or abstract ideas. The book discusses the development of religion in Japan, from the animism and nature reverence found in Shinto to the more complex systems of Buddhism and Confucianism that were adopted later. It emphasizes the role of social and political factors in the evolution of religious practices and beliefs, and explores how these have shaped the cultural and spiritual history of Japan.
