For the general student the best books are these few, like Donald Lowrie''s M y Life in Prison, Al Jenning''s Through the Shadows with 0. Henry and this book of my friend, Frank Tannenbaum; books which combine a sane and healthy social point of view with an intimate knowledge of prison life.
