Synopsis

Charting a Christian path to a better world
A clear, practical look at how the Christian faith can shape leadership, education, and social action. This volume argues that the kingdom of God grows through everyday relationships, community formation, and responsible service—not just personal salvation. Learn how churches can train leaders, how families become centers of transformation, and how faith can guide actions from neighborhood life to global mission.

This edition frames a visible program: how Christian thought becomes social change, how the church approaches education and policy, and how faithful living can address real-world problems. It speaks from the experience of a pastor who has studied and practiced these ideas, offering guidance for those preparing to lead in Christian service and for readers seeking a broader, action-minded faith.

What you’ll experience
- A foundational look at the family’s role in building a Christian society and why healthy homes matter to faith.
- A discussion of leadership training, church life, and the practical steps to influence communities.
- Insights into how the gospel can shape wealth, industry, schooling, and the state.
- A perspective on the mission to spread Christian influence while serving humanity’s needs.

Ideal for readers of Christian social thought, church leadership, and faith-based approaches to public life. If you’re exploring how faith translates into concrete action, this book offers a grounded, experience-informed guide to the program of the Christian religion.

Présentation de l'éditeur

The Church never faced greater opportunities for service than those by which she is confronted to-day. The world struggle which has been going on for more than three years has shaken men loose from the conventional bonds by which in normal times they are held in restraint and launched them on a sea of adventurous radicalism such as has almost no parallel in human history. Everything now is in a state of flux. Nothing is regarded as fixed beyond question. Out of this chaos a new world will have to be made after the grim conflict is over. What kind of a world it is to be will depend largely upon the Christian forces of the various countries involved in it. If these forces fail to show themselves equal to the occasion, there may follow a long period of confusion and uncertainty. If they prove themselves equal to the test which the opportunity will bring to them, they may succeed in reorganizing society upon a more broadly democratic and Christian basis and so inaugurate an era of brotherhood and cooperation in which the world will find rich compensation for all the agony of the grim and horrible struggle. Whether or not this is to be the outcome will depend in large measure upon the kind of leadership the Church shall raise up.
