Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book recounts the geological and topographical features of the Murphrees Valley of Alabama, tracing its formation and evolution over the years. An analysis of the geological formations within the valley shows that the region is one of elevation that is over one mile deep in places, excavated from the crest of an uplifting fold of strata. The author examines how this fold was then eroded into the valley that exists today. The geological formations examined here are part of a double fold system with the Murphrees Valley representing the westernmost of the two folds that make up the Jones Valley, which is itself part of the much larger Appalachian fold structure that formed during the Paleozoic era. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N° de réf. du vendeur 9781330168523_0
