It is intended as an introduction to French grammar, conversation and translation, and it contains vocabularies which will save the young beginner the trouble of using a dictionary. The Editor begs to express his sincere thanks to the numerous members of the profession who have adopted his First French Book for their elementary classes. He has carefully corrected in the present edition some shght defects, and added to the volume, for the greater convenience of the young student, a hst of some of the most useful irregular verbs. The Second Feench Book, which will complete this little Elementary Grammar, is now in preparation, and will be pubhshed inS eptember next at the same low price, A pril, 1878.
