Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book investigates why workers consistently see their wages outpaced by inflation, even after organizing and demanding higher pay. The author argues that the problem lies not with employers' resistance to fair pay, but with a misunderstanding of economic principles. Drawing on historical data, the author reveals that times of peace and economic growth have been accompanied by real wage gains for workersâ"not because of collective bargaining, but because of increased productivity leading to lower prices for consumer goods. Conversely, periods of forced wage increases and industrial strife have led to decreased production, higher prices, and stagnant wages. The author proposes an alternative to adversarial labor relations, suggesting that workers can secure higher wages and better working conditions by willingly accepting the highest wage the market will bear, thereby increasing production and lowering prices, which will in turn increase the workers' real wages while simultaneously benefiting all of society.
