This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. Following the introduction of group testing in the early 20th century, the author conducted research studies involving over 1,200 high school students over several years, utilizing the Stanford-Binet Scale, and Army Examinations a and b. The study examined the relationship between intelligence quotient and academic success, with results indicating that psychological tests could be used as valid predictors of probable school success. Furthermore, the author conducted a guidance experiment with 22 mid-year high school students, in which they received subject selection counseling based on mental test results and other relevant data. The results showed that the guided group had significantly fewer failures compared to a similar-sized unguided group, with none failing two or more subjects. This book is valuable to educators and counselors seeking to enhance their understanding of the role of intelligence testing in secondary school educational and vocational guidance.
