The book's taxonomic organization adheres to the seventh edition of Grays Manual and incorporates the latest classifications and nomenclature as established by prominent botanical authorities. It also includes rare and uncommon plants found in the area, as well as those of glacial origin and species not found south or northeast of the region. Extensive field research conducted by the author has resulted in the inclusion of more than 40 species not recorded in previous local floras.
