In this branch of technical research the law of mass action and the principles of thermodynamics have played a prominent part, and the treatment has therefore included these two branches of physical chemistry. This branch of modern Chemistry has not in this country received the attention it merits and enjoys in lands where Chemical industry is making more progress than was formerly the case here.
