British public, people believed that the German nation was led blindly into the World War by an unscrupulous military clique. Now, however, there is ample evidence to prove that the entire nation was thoroughly well informed of the course which events were taking, and also warned as to the catastrophe to which the national course was certainly leading. Even to-day, after more than twelve months of devastating warfare, there is no unity of opinion in Germany as to who caused the war. Some writers accuse France, others England, while many lay the guilt at Russia sdoor. They are only unanimous in charging one or other, or all the powers, of the Triple Entente.

Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book chronicles the events leading up to the outbreak of World War I. The author argues that the war was not a consequence of any one action or policy, but rather the result of a series of missteps and misunderstandings among the major powers of Europe. The author traces the origins of the war to the growing nationalism and imperialism of the late 19th century, and analyzes the role played by the arms race, the alliance system, and the press in creating an atmosphere of fear and suspicion. The book also examines the diplomatic efforts made to prevent the war, and argues that these efforts were ultimately doomed to failure. The author concludes by reflecting on the lessons that can be learned from the outbreak of World War I, and warns against the dangers of nationalism, imperialism, and militarism. This book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of World War I, and offers a nuanced and thought-provoking analysis of the war's causes and consequences.
