One of the most significant portions of the book is the author's account of a "certain marvellous maid" who helped liberate the kingdom of France from the English. The author claims to have known this woman and to have been present during her efforts to liberate France. The book provides a valuable and unique perspective on Scottish history, particularly during the period of the Hundred Years' War, and offers insights into the role of women in medieval warfare and politics.
