Practical Endocrinology explains how the body’s hidden glands regulate growth, metabolism, and therapy.
Connect the science of internal secretions to practical medical care and discover how hormones shape health, disease, and treatment decisions. This volume gathers Harrower’s articles into a cohesive guide for clinicians. It emphasizes how glandular activity affects everyday health and how therapies built on hormonal principles can complement standard care. The author discusses core ideas in plain terms, with attention to what works in practice and what may require cautious application.

Hence this collection of articles in book form. Unlike my earlier book, Practical Hormone Therapy: a Manual of Organotherapy for Practitioners (which is referred to occasionally in the following pages), the units comprising this collection were not written originally with the inteniton of fitting them together as harmonious and consecutive whole. As a result of this there is a certain amount of redundancy which it has seemed best to leave unmodified. As these re.iterations have been reread for publication in this present form, the fact has been emphasized that no harm can come from reading some essential more than once, especially when the repetition lends weight to some particular contention in one paper and to a different one in another. Several additional paragraphs have been added to a number of the articles as originally published in the medical press, with the idea of making them more comprehensive and as up-to-date as possible.
