Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book investigates whether two influential ancient Latin histories of the Trojan War, Dares' History of the Destruction of Troy and Dictys' Ephemeris of the Trojan War, may have originated from Greek originals rather than being the original compositions of their purported authors. The author explores the reasons for believing the latter, by thoroughly examining the texts and their historical and literary contexts. Their significance lies in their having influenced medieval European literature and culture for centuries. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
