Explore the heaven-world of Devachan and what it means for human life. This concise volume explains the mental plane beyond the astral realm, outlining how consciousness shifts and how beings from many traditions experience the heaven-life. Readers will gain a clear, approachable view of the Devas, angels, and other inhabitants, and how their existence interweaves with earthly evolution.
This edition presents the core ideas in plain language, focusing on how different planes of existence interpenetrate our world and how life can be understood from a spiritual perspective. It emphasizes practical, down-to-earth explanations for those curious about Theosophy and the nature of higher consciousness, without requiring advanced study.
- Understand the concept of multiple planes of reality and how they interpenetrate our space
- Learn how the heaven-life is described, including the roles of Devas and other beings
- See how consciousness shifts from the physical to higher vehicles and what this means for personal growth

Ideal for readers of religious philosophy, spiritual metaphysics, and those exploring Theosophy’s take on life after death and the structures of higher worlds.

Excerpt from The Devachanic Plane: Its Characteristics and Inhabitants
Precisely the same is true of the astral and mental planes. The astral plane of our own earth interpenetrates it and its atmosphere, but also extends for some distance beyond the atmosphere. It may be remembered that this plane was called by the Greeks the sublunar world. The mental plane in its turn interpenetrates the astral, but also extends further into space than does the latter.
Only the atomic matter of each of these planes, and even that only in an entirely free condition, is co-extensive with the interplanetary ether, and consequently a person can no more pass from planet to lanet even of our own chain in his astral body or his min -body, than he can in his physi cal body. In the causal body, when very highly developed, this achievement is possible, though even then by no means with the ease and rapidity with which it can be done upon the buddhic plane by those who have succeeded in raising their consciousness to that level.
