Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book is a 9th-century hagiography by Adamnan, an Irish abbot, describing the life, miracles, and prophetic visions of Saint Columba, an Irish monk who lived in the 6th century. Columba left Ireland to go to Scotland in 563 AD to spread Christianity and founded the monastery of Iona, on the west coast. Adamnan's account provides not only the story of Columba's life but is also a valuable window into the history of early Celtic Christianity and the customs and beliefs of the time. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N de rf. du vendeur 9781331079118_0
