A bold ancient drama of captivity, ransom, and a man torn between war and peace. In a city of Miletus, a Gaul named Hervor moves between brutal conflict and fragile mercy as he guards a captured wife and faces a court of Greek rulers, fierce captors, and the pull of a life he never imagined. The tale traces loyalty, law, and the cost of choosing one’s own heart over power.
Hervor, the Gaul blends the intensity of siege and the intimacy of a personal dilemma. It unfolds across tense scenes of attack, negotiation, and moral testing, where freedom and ransom clash with duty, love, and the possibility of a new future.
- A vivid setting in ancient Anatolia with invading Gauls and a besieged temple
- A central moral debate about what is owed to captors, spouses, and the state
- A complex look at honor, love, and the challenge of choosing between duty and desire
- Strong, character-driven moments that explore courage, restraint, and repentance
Ideal for readers who enjoy historical drama, political intrigue, and stories of personal choice set against the backdrop of ancient conflict.
