The following work appeared in England about ten years since, as the production of an anonymous author. The undersigned will be much disappointed if it does not meet with the same favor, which was shown by a large number of American Episcopalians, to the popular stories on the Church Catechism, by Mrs. Sherwood ;which work it resembles not a little, and in some respects certainly excels. It shows great labor in the references to appropriate scriptures, as well as great felicity in the choice of illustrations suited to the youthful mind. If it be used according to its design, and as it deserves, it will be equally profitable and interesting to the parent or sponsor and the child.
