The second section takes up the forces which run the body politic, the machine, the organism. These forces are assumed to be subject to contemplation and study. They are assumed to be varied manifestations of one giant force, occasionally named as the Divine Human Force. If the book were a treatise on theology, this force would be called the Spirit of God, or the Holy Spirit. It is assumed to be the Giant Intellect of Deity, hovering above the structure which he has called into being, and which we call human society, and more frequently, the Race or the Race Man, somewhat in the same way as the human soul broods over the bodily structure wherein for its pilgrimage on earth it is temporarily encased.
