There is no saying of Christ swhich justifies the Christian in an easy life. True, Jesus taught rest, freedom from worry, spiritual contentment, as the earthly rewards of His Kingdom. He said, Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavyladen, and I will give you rest. .. .T ake my yoke upon you and learn of me, .. .for my yoke is easy and my burden is light. But nowhere said He, There is no yoke, there are no burdens to be borne. Contrary wise, He told those who were desirous of following Him that they must be prepared to make great sacrifices for the sake of His Kingdom. He predicted persecutions and death.

Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book is a summons to the faithful to live in accordance with the true teachings of Christ. The author argues that many modern Christians have chosen to lead easy lives in avoidance of the hardships Jesus Himself endured. By contrast, the author presents evidence from the life of Jesus that his yoke is easy and his burden is light, and that by denying ourselves we can find true life in the Kingdom of God. The author further argues that the Church has often failed to meet its obligation to be a source of spiritual nourishment and guidance for its members and society as a whole. This thought-provoking text will challenge readers to examine their own faith and consider what it truly means to follow Jesus Christ.
