Excerpt from Life in Abyssinia: Being Notes Collected During Three Years Residence and Travels in That Country
Hopmo in this edition to give the British reader a tolerably accurate idea of Abyssinia and the Abyssinians, I have omitted such portions of the former one as did not directly bear on the subject, adding in the Introduction a sketch of the political changes which have occurred since I left the country. In other respects, I have adhered to the text as it was originally written.
