Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book examines the validity and history of Anglican orders and the Papacy's stance that they are invalid. The author challenges the charges levelled against Anglicanism and seeks to establish that its apostolic succession is uncompromised, particularly through the consecration of Archbishop Matthew Parker in 1559, from whom all bishops of the Church of England since derive their orders. The author argues that the Roman Catholic Church has shifted its stance on Anglican orders over time, and that its current position is not supported by historical evidence. They highlight the inaccuracy of earlier claims that Parker's consecration was either a forgery or invalid, and that the Roman Catholic Church's attempt to discredit the Anglican Ordinal is based on a misunderstanding of its essential elements. The book explores the concept of intention in the administration of sacraments and argues that the Church of England's official declaration of its intention in the Preface to the Anglican Ordinal is sufficient to guarantee the validity of its orders. The author concludes that the Papacy's denial of Anglican orders is an unjustified attack on the integrity of the Anglican Church, and that Anglican orders are a valid continuation of the apostolic succession from the time of the Apostles.
