The Fall of La Rochelle and the endureing faith of its people
This historical narrative examines the siege and its aftermath, showing how a mighty city faced famine, occupation, and shifting power with the resolve of its Protestant citizens.
The work draws from letters, records, and archival material to map the period from Richelieu’s conquest to the wider persecution that followed. It highlights the collapse of local self-government, the demolition of fortifications, and the toll on pastors and laity alike as the edicts against Protestants intensified.
Ideal for readers of French religious history and early modern Europe who seek a clear, documentary portrait of a pivotal era.
