Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book tells the story of Ann Judson, one of the first female missionaries to the Far East. Born in Massachusetts in 1789, Ann was a bright and devout young woman who felt called to spread the Gospel to heathen lands. In 1812, she married Adoniram Judson, a fellow missionary, and together they sailed for India. After several years of unsuccessful attempts to establish a mission there, they moved to Burma in 1813. Ann Judson's experiences in Burma were both challenging and rewarding. She faced persecution and ill health, but she also saw many people come to faith in Christ. She translated the Bible into Burmese, founded schools, and taught women about the Gospel. Her work helped to lay the foundation for the Christian church in Burma. Ann Judson's story is an inspiring example of faith, courage, and perseverance. She was a pioneer missionary who made a significant contribution to the spread of Christianity in Asia. Her legacy continues to inspire women today to follow in her footsteps and serve God in foreign lands.
