The friends of the author, knowing his ability as an ex positor of the Scriptures, requested during his last illness, his sermons and lectures for publication. To all these proposals he constantly objected. However, afterward he said to his wife, You may gather up those lectures on Pilgrim''s Progress and publish them if you think it will do any good.
