Synopsis

This book exhorts the British nation to assume responsibility for spreading Christianity at this time, as this is the duty of any Christian nation. This is supported by citing the Law of God and the example of the Apostolic Church. Dissenters are making an effort to spread Christianity, but the Church of England is slow to do so, despite having three societies for the propagation of the Gospel. The author argues that the Church would have a greater influence if more of its members were motivated by religious zeal. Furthermore, the Church must also provide translations of the Bible in various tongues, and extend its National Church by sending out Bishops and clergy, as well as other representatives in places of importance without high-ranking religious figures present. The author contends that this is an important undertaking, as many people in the world are without this knowledge and would benefit greatly from it.
