Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the fascinating intersection of faith and botany, exploring the historical tradition of assigning symbolic meanings to flowers and plants. The author contends that this practice, prevalent in both Jewish and Christian philosophies throughout history, stemmed from a deep reverence for nature and a belief in God's omnipresent influence. Moving beyond mere aesthetics, the author argues for a revival of the "Flora Sacra," a concept where flowers and plants serve as tangible reminders of spiritual truths and sacred narratives. This book challenges the dominance of scientific nomenclature, advocating for a return to the evocative and historically rich names that connect us to a deeper understanding of the natural world and its connection to our faith. By delving into the origins and significance of these floral dedications, the author reveals a treasure trove of symbolism, from flowers associated with specific saints to those commemorating events in the life of Christ. This book unveils a profound connection between humanity and nature, where flowers become more than just decorative objects; they transform into vessels of spiritual meaning, enriching our understanding of both the natural world and our place within it. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
