Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book advocates for a bi-metallic monetary standard in which the relative value of gold and silver is fixed by legislation. The author argues that this system would create a more stable monetary system, reduce the volatility of exchange rates, and promote international trade. The book provides a historical overview of bi-metallism, discusses the arguments for and against it, and proposes a specific plan for its implementation. The author argues that a bi-metallic monetary system would be more stable than a gold or silver monometallic system because the value of the monetary unit would be based on the average value of both gold and silver. This would help to prevent large fluctuations in the value of money, which can harm businesses and consumers. The author also argues that a bi-metallic monetary system would reduce the volatility of exchange rates because the value of the monetary unit would be the same in all countries that adopted the system. This would make it easier for businesses to trade across borders and would promote international trade. The book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of money, the economics of bi-metallism, or the current debate over monetary reform. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
