Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book reports on research into the causes of pyemia, a deadly disease spread through the bloodstream and often resulting from appendicitis. The author examines a fatal case of pyemia resulting from an anaerobic polymicrobial infection caused by a strain of Bacillus fusiformis alongside aerobic bacteria, an unprecedented occurrence. Most cases of pyemia are caused by a combination of various bacteria, so this work offers new insight into the role of specific microorganisms in the progression of the disease and the treatments that might target them. Given the frequency with which Bacillus fusiformis is found in diseased tissue but its seeming harmlessness when isolated, the authorâs findings, which build upon previous research into its many forms, could prove vital in understanding the progression and treatment of a range of diseases. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
