See when events happened in the Old Testament at a glance. The Dated Events of the Old Testament presents a graphic, table‑driven chronology that lays out each event with its time relation to others, plus the dates in Christian era terms. It also explains how dates are fixed, which are conjectural, and why different scholars reach different conclusions.
This edition emphasizes practical use: you’ll learn how to read the tables, distinguish fixed dates from estimate dates, and understand the methods behind ancient timekeeping. It integrates biblical data with external historical and archaeological data to offer a grounded sense of the flow of history in the biblical narrative.

The tables in this little volume present a reasonably complete list of the events narrated in the Old Testament, with their time relations: first of all the relations of each event to other near events, Israelitish or foreign, also its date in terms of the Christian era. They also present to the eye a conspectus of the evidence by which each event is dated. - from the Preface.

Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book presents a unique perspective on the Old Testament through an analysis of its chronological data. The author examines the Bible's numbers, time words, and order of events to establish a comprehensive timeline of ancient Israelite history. By comparing this biblical chronology with external data from Assyrian, Babylonian, Egyptian, and astronomical sources, the author demonstrates a remarkable degree of accuracy in the biblical record. This book challenges conventional assumptions about the chronology of the Old Testament, shedding new light on the timing of key events and the broader historical context in which they occurred. The insights provided are significant for understanding the development of Israelite religion, culture, and its place within ancient Near Eastern history.
