Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book explores the concept of data communication in robot control systems. As robots and their controllers have become more sophisticated, the demand on their operating systems has also increased. This book delves into the lower levels of robot control systems, using servo loops as a primary example. The author examines the special characteristics of servo loops and how they affect data communications within robot control systems. He discusses two systems he developed in his research: HIC, an operating system for hierarchies of servo loops that employs rate monotonic scheduling for periodic servo loop processes, and GANGLIA, a proposed real-time communication network intended to allow the processors in a robot controller to be distributed within the robot. This exploration considers the theoretical problems of scheduling and synchronization in real-time systems, then presents practical examples and analysis. The author concludes that, although limited to a domain of servo loops, these tools facilitate resolution of the problems that arise in real-time data communication in robot control systems and also have broader applicability across real-time systems and robotics as a whole. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N° de réf. du vendeur 9781332118540_0
