Excerpt from The Jingle Primer, Vol. 5: A First Book in Reading
The stories in the latter half of the book contain but few new words, and follow the vocabulary obtained from the jingles. The new words are in full-faced type and may be taught by any method preferred, but they should be familiar to the child before the story is introduced.
It will be noticed in both jingles and stories that the same expressions are used repeatedly. Stories in which such repeti tion occurs are always of great interest to children, and afford opportunities for reviewing and fixing the words in the child's mind.
