Instead, the author proposes that the process is largely axiomatic in nature, and that dramatic improvements can be made by applying certain fundamental principles to the process of system design. The author provides several axioms which can be applied to each phase of a system's construction, and which can be used to evaluate the viability of potential designs. He then provides several theorems which can be used to increase productivity in each phase, and provides examples of how to apply them effectively.
