Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book provides a set of criteria for evaluating water management plans. The criteria were developed by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in response to the Central Valley Improvement Act, which requires agricultural contractors to prepare and submit water management plans with definite goals, appropriate water conservation measures, and timetables. These criteria identify best management practices (BMPs), including those mandated by California State law and reasonable alternatives. This book also grants substantial deference to the recommendations included in A Management Plan for Agricultural Subsurface Drainage and Related Problems on the Westside San Joaquin Valley. The criteria are divided into five sections: Describe the District, Inventory Water Resources, Best Management Practices for Agricultural Contractors, Best Management Practices for Urban and Industrial Contractors, and Exemption Process. The author goes into great detail for each section, including tables. Overall, this book is an essential tool for water management planning.
