This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. While some publishers have opted to apply OCR (optical character recognition) technology to the process, we believe this leads to sub-optimal results (frequent typographical errors, strange characters and confusing formatting) and does not adequately preserve the historical character of the original artifact. We believe this work is culturally important in its original archival form. While we strive to adequately clean and digitally enhance the original work, there are occasionally instances where imperfections such as blurred or missing pages, poor pictures or errant marks may have been introduced due to either the quality of the original work or the scanning process itself. Despite these occasional imperfections, we have brought it back into print as part of our ongoing global book preservation commitment, providing customers with access to the best possible historical reprints. We appreciate your understanding of these occasional imperfections, and sincerely hope you enjoy seeing the book in a format as close as possible to that intended by the original publisher.

Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book, a whimsical and astute account of a masquerade ball held by the Eagle Queen for her subjects, captures the inherent follies and foibles of society through the lens of avian caricatures. The author, a master of satire, has crafted a narrative that explores the absurdity of social pretensions, the pursuit of status, and the pitfalls of vanity. The book's central conceit, a gathering of birds from all walks of life disguised in elaborate costumes, provides a clever framework for the author to comment on the superficiality and hypocrisy prevalent in the human world. Through the interactions and conversations of these feathered characters, the author deftly exposes the flaws and eccentricities that plague individuals and institutions alike. The book's avian cast represents a diverse range of human types, from the pompous and self-important to the naive and gullible. The Eagle Queen herself, while seemingly regal, is not immune to the temptations of vanity and prejudice. The author uses these characters to explore themes of power, ambition, and the search for meaning in a world where appearances often deceive. Ultimately, this book is a timeless satire that holds a mirror up to human nature, inviting readers to reflect on their own foibles and the absurdity of social conventions. With its wit, charm, and enduring insights, this book remains a valuable addition to the canon of satirical literature.
