Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book presents an economic theory of how people interact, examining interactions as a kind of game. The author uses two-person, two-choice games to construct a taxonomy of interactions and show that separability of objective functions is sufficient, but not necessary, for dominant strategies to exist. The work is generalized to Nx2 games and applied to tax evasion, rural development, optimal saving, and social norms. The author argues that nonlinear interactions need not be problematic, and that dominance is not a necessary condition for equilibrium. The book contributes to the understanding of externalities as a special case of social interaction, highlighting their reciprocal nature. It offers a useful tool for dissecting externality games and provides insights into the nature, stability, and compatibility of interactions, benefiting scholars and practitioners alike.
