Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book provides a detailed history of Roman cursive writing from its origin to the time of its development into the National hands and the Italian notarial scripts. It sheds light on the various differences between Roman cursive and capital writing, before the beginning of the Common Era. The author has made use of various sources to narrate this history, including the graffiti of Pompeii, wax tablets from the same city, Dacian and Egyptian wax tablets and finally, papyri and ostraka. Several undeciphered Dacian tablets have also been deciphered and translated in this book. These sources have been compared with one another, to the writing of inscriptions, and to the cursive hands found in a variety of Christian inscriptions. This book thus presents a comprehensive and meticulously researched study of Roman cursive writing. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N de rf. du vendeur 9781332313099_0
