Synopsis
This book explores ancient inscriptions from Gaulish coins and monuments, a subject seldom delved into, to shed light on Celtic languages and culture. The inscriptions are analyzed within the context of Celtic studies, particularly the relationship between Gaulish and its two modern descendants Irish and Welsh. The author argues that these inscriptions, mainly dedications and votive offerings, provide valuable linguistic data for understanding the diversity and nature of Gaulish dialects.
