Inspired by music's ability to create universal emotions within us, the author attempted to transform these into pure, independent poetry in these seven novellas. Often accused of being a poor musician, the author insists these are not good music, but rather pure poetry. This book also includes a short, previously published letter to the editor of a newspaper in Rome in which the author expressed his intention to retire from literature. As you might guess, this retirement was short-lived, and themea culpa is reprinted here as an act of penance.
