Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book presents a comprehensive examination of the use of two electrified spheres to investigate the distribution and intensity of electric forces. Electric forces between spherical objects had initially been addressed by Lord Kelvin, whose research provided an approximate representation of forces, specifically the force experienced by two equal spheres when positioned a specific distance apart. This book provides a different approach to this phenomenon, utilizing a double series, which is not absolutely convergent. However, the author presents an alternative investigation and provides a force value that matches Lord Kelvin's, ultimately signifying the force between two spheres in contact. The author introduces a class of elliptic functions with periods 2Ï and Ï for the study of this problem. These functions, which the author calls g-series, are applied to the study of elliptic and Zeta functions associated with multiples of Ï/3. These g-series are shown to be expressible in terms of two arithmetic functions E(n) and H(n), which are tabulated up to n = 1000. The book's insights provide a foundation for further research into electric force distribution and the applications of g-series in mathematical physics.
