While previous studies have focused on rote and logical learning, this is the first thoroughgoing attempt to elicit data for humans and animals secured under identical conditions. The author subjects established ideas in the field to rigorous empirical testing and finds that established conclusions do not hold up when subjected to controlled experimentation. The author presents compelling evidence that the part learning method with no returns permitted is more efficient than the whole learning method overall. This research provides new insights into motor learning and questions the universality of behavior, learning conditions, and relative degrees of intelligence between different life forms. The conclusions drawn from the data in this study have heuristic and practical value in enforcing or modifying learning conditions imposed upon students.
