Besides the authorities named, the other works that have been found directly helpful are su?iciently mentioned in the foot-notes to the text. The actual composition of the biography has occupied such time as could be spared from other engagements for about a year, but it has in reality been twenty years in the making. Let us hope that readers will not find it heavy in proportion!

Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book is an insightful and timely biography of Balthasar Hubmaier, a significant yet overlooked figure from the Reformation era. Hubmaier was an evangelical preacher who became a leader of the Anabaptist movement, a group that pursued a more radical vision of reform than Luther and other Protestant leaders. The author draws upon a trove of original sources to illuminate Hubmaier's life and thought, including his writings, correspondence, and the records of his trials. The book explores Hubmaier's early education, his university studies, and his work as a Catholic priest before his conversion to Anabaptism. It examines his role in the spread of the Anabaptist movement, his theological writings, and his eventual martyrdom. By situating Hubmaier's life and work within the broader context of the Reformation, this book sheds light on the diversity of religious thought and practice during this tumultuous period and challenges traditional narratives of the Reformation. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N de rf. du vendeur 9781332933273_0
