I am afraid it is but too juft an Obfervation, that fcarce one Family in ten keeps ftriclly within the Compafs of its Income ,for befides the prefent expenfive manner of Living, the generality of Mankind have contraded fuch an unufual I ndolence, that People eagerly purluing the Pleafures and Ncvelties of the Times, leave their EJ latci and Bufinefs of all kinds, at Sixes and Sevens, or at befb to the Management ot a fev heedlefs mercenary Servants, that moftly either through Avarice or Negligence, betray or deceive them. The Contagion as I have faid, hath fpread it felf over the whole Kingdom ;the grand Controverfy among all Ranks and Degrees,being only who fhall Out-D refs, Drink or Eat his NeighB ,bour.
