Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book presents a bold re-examination of early childhood reading instruction. It draws on foundational research on literacy and learning, and bridges it with classroom practice. This book illustrates how research-based methodologies can be implemented by teachers, while preserving a focus on skill development. The author, an experienced classroom teacher and former literacy coach, provides an insightful approach to consolidate the code-based knowledge children gain in beginning reading instruction with higher-level comprehension work typically reserved for later grades. Thoughtfully written and thought-provoking, this book will change the way you think about teaching reading. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
