Excerpt from The Monism of Man or the Unity of the Divine and Human
The volume herewith given to the public comprises a series of essays that was contributed by the author to T k: National Quarterly Rm'nu during the period of his editorial charge of that work. The essays have been rewritten and the subject enlarged upon so as to form a consistent whole. In the discussion of the subject, the author, while mindful of the verities, or established truths, has been hampered neither by the creeds of Christendom, nor the dictum of science. He cannot pretend to have fathomed the depths of the subject, since it is unfathomable. While he thus recognizes the limitations of finite faculties and the vastness of the sphere of unex plored knowledge, he has endeavored to be in all things rational. If he has succeeded in this endeavor he will abide with content any difference of opinion that may exist between the reader and himself.

Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book explores the philosophies of science, the scientific method, and the nature of reality by examining how both the objective and subjective influence our perception and understanding of the world. The author illuminates the history of these debates from the early Greek philosophers onwards, before moving on to the Cartesian cogito, the rise of modern science, and finally to the present day. The strengths and weaknesses of both rationalist and empiricist approaches to philosophy are evaluated, and the author offers innovative ways of reconciling the two opposing theories. The text is also replete with insights into the nature of mind and matter and the relationship between the two. The author concludes by discussing how these ancient philosophical debates continue to shape our understanding of the world and our place within it. This book is a profound and timely examination of the nature of reality and the relationship between science, philosophy, and the human experience.
