Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book presents a detailed analysis of the relationships between lines in spectra of the Sun, fixed stars, and the chromosphere. The author has compared solar (Fraunhofer) and Capellan spectra, finding that most lines and groups of lines are identical in both spectra. Enhanced lines of iron and titanium are strengthened in sunspot spectra, and even more in Arcturian star spectra. The author suggests that the temperatures in sunspot and Arcturian star atmospheres are lower than the average temperature of the Sun's photosphere. A comparison of the Kensington negative of e Ursae Majoris with Sirius revealed that the lines of proto-chromium are more enhanced in e Ursae Majoris. This suggests that the temperature or electrical excitation conditions in e Ursae Majoris are similar to those in sunspots.
