The author argues that these strange choices were intentional and part of a larger body of work that parodies the popular songs of knights and warriors. The author concludes by suggesting that Croceâs unconventional approach to poetry may have sought to highlight the absurdity of the heroic tales of his time and to create a new kind of poetry that was more suited to the common people.
