Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book is the first annual report of the Worcester Lunatic Hospital (now Worcester State Hospital), which began treating chronic insanity cases in 1877. The report provides a glimpse into the early history of the hospital and its approach to caring for the mentally ill. It also discusses the benefits and challenges of using a separate asylum for chronic patients. The author argues that separating patients with chronic and acute conditions is advantageous for both groups, and he provides evidence to support his claims. The report also includes statistical information on the patients admitted to the hospital during its first year of operation, as well as a discussion of the hospital's financial situation. This book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of mental health care in the United States. It provides a detailed look at one of the first institutions in the country to provide specialized care for the chronically mentally ill. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N° de réf. du vendeur 9781333252502_0
