Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book, originally published in 1805, offers a comprehensive guide to the principles and practices of architecture for aspiring carpenters. It was written at a time when American builders lacked access to a dedicated resource for architectural knowledge, relying instead on foreign texts often poorly suited to the local context. Recognizing this need, the author aimed to provide a practical and theoretical foundation tailored to the specific circumstances of building in America. The book explores a range of architectural elements, from the fundamentals of geometric drawing to the design and construction of doors and windows, incorporating detailed explanations and illustrative examples. It also includes valuable insights into the historical origins and proportional systems of the five classical orders of architecture, a subject of enduring importance for architects and builders. The book's focus on practical applications, combined with its historical and theoretical perspectives, makes it a valuable resource for understanding the evolution of architectural design and construction in early America. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N° de réf. du vendeur 9781333276867_0
