Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book presents an extensive and up-to-date account of the textual criticism of the New Testament. It begins by examining the earliest and most significant biblical manuscripts, including the recently discovered Codex Sinaiticus, which dates to the 4th century. The author delves into the complexities of distinguishing between Greek New Testament manuscripts produced prior to, and shorty after the 6th Century CE. The book proceeds to explore the principles and practices of textual criticism, covering topics such as the evaluation of witnesses and the use of internal and external evidence. The author also discusses the history of the text, from its origins in the early church to the present day. Additionally, it examines the influence of subjective feelings and preconceptions of the critics on the application of canons of subjective criticism to the consensus of ancient manuscripts, with emphasis on the need for caution in this approach. The book concludes by discussing the latest developments in textual criticism and their implications for the study of the New Testament. It is a valuable resource for biblical scholars, theologians, and anyone interested in the history and development of the Christian scriptures. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
