It offers an analysis built on the assumption that short omissions in manuscripts are likely to represent lines in the original. The author utilizes arithmetic analysis of these omissions to study the mutual relationships of the oldest Greek Uncials, including the Vaticanus (B) and the Sinaiticus (N). The book argues that the primitive text of the Gospels and Acts is the longest, not the shortest, and that it is found not in BR or in the majority of Greek manuscripts, but in the Western family, i.e. in the ancient versions and the Codex Bezae (D). The author's analysis suggests that the archetype of the four Gospels in book-form cannot be later than the middle of the second century.
